We had a direct service day at Recovery Park in Detroit! Recovery Park's mission is to create jobs for people with barriers to employment. Their development strategy is to leverage the city's underutilized assets: a large available workforce, abundant open space, access to fresh water, extensive infrastructure and a wide array of manufacturing and tech companies. They believe in creating job opportunities for Detroit’s residents  and in helping returning citizens and challenged workers return to the work force.

Getting a tour of Ponyride is always such a treat. Students are able to get a glimpse of a wide array of social and commercial enterprises that are within the rehabilitated walls of this old abandoned warehouse.

This is the third summer that the Wagoners have hosted us for a delicious dinner! The students even got to play basketball on their Duke half court!
