In a previous blog post, I spoke about a famous restaurant in Detroit- Tony V’s. I have been there several times in my stay out here and have spoken to him every time I’ve been there. He is an extremely inspiring person, and, therefore, decided to have a deeper talk with him.
Originally from Albania, he shifted to Detroit a long time back and has spent all his time from childhood to present in Detroit. He has multiple food chains all across Detroit, however this tavern is one of his favorite places he has ever opened. He has always emphasized quality over anything when it comes to preparing dishes. His restaurant serves some of the best fried food and burgers I have ever had.
In my interview with him, he mentioned how he often had several offers to shift cities from Detroit. For example, his friend in Florida was sponsoring to come open a chain of restaurants out there. However, he denied all those offers and decided to stay in Detroit. He was always driven to improve the lifestyle in Detroit and has always been committed to increasing the development in this city.
At the same time, he has always made sure he’s helping those around him. For example, each year he sponsors catering for all athlete events at Wayne State University, one of many state universities in Detroit that we are currently living in. These acts continue to show that despite his success he has always been a humble man.
Tony is just one of the many great people I’ve met in the city of Detroit. These guys have served to be true inspirations for me and I look forward to implementing the good lessons I’ve learned from them in my daily life.
